Idaho Legislature reveals committee chairpersons for upcoming legislative session

At the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, the Idaho Legislature had its organizational session on Thursday to choose lawmakers for committee chair positions and swear in party leaders.

Every two years after a general election, the Idaho Legislature holds an organizational session during which lawmakers get ready for the 2025 legislative session, which starts on January 6.

Following their victories in leadership elections on Wednesday night, House Speaker Mike Moyle, R-Star, and Senate President Pro Tem Kelly Anthon, R-Burley, were sworn in as leaders of the Idaho House and Senate on Thursday.

On Thursday, no bills were introduced or discussed. The appointment of committee chairs and committee assignments for the next session, on the other hand, was the most urgent matter.

Just before the Idaho House and Senate adjourned for the day at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, members assigned themselves to committees.
