Pocatello Police are currently investigating the discovery of a decomposed body in the Portneuf River, which was found on Saturday, July 13. An individual near the Pacific Steel and Recycling Trailhead located the body. Following the discovery, the Bingham County Search and Rescue Dive and Water Rescue team was called in to remove the body from the river.
Authorities have indicated that an autopsy will be conducted to establish the identity of the deceased individual and determine the cause of death. At this time, police are urging anyone who may have information regarding this incident to come forward and contact them promptly.
