DallasWitnesses claim that a police pursuit involving a stolen car that resulted in a fatal Dallas collision was almost significantly worse.
Devonte Webber is accused of murder while evading police in relation to the wrong-way collision.
What We Know Shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Texas Department of Safety and the Fort Worth Police Department were pursuing an armed suspect inside a stolen car.
After passing through Fort Worth along the Chisholm Trail Parkway, the car headed for Dallas.
The stolen 2024 Jeep Wagoneer cut aggressively across lanes during the chase, which reached up to 120 miles per hour. The Wagoneer avoided police by driving on the inside and outside shoulders, according to the police.
When the Jeep veered off course on the Dallas service road between I-35 and Inwood Road and collided with a 2015 Audi A4 head-on, the pursuit came to an end.
Joel Jusino Bergollo, a 36-year-old resident of Downers Grover, Illinois, who was driving the Audi, was declared dead.
What They’re Saying: Trent Wils witnessed the collision miss multiple other vehicles before colliding head-on with a car leaving I-35 while he was seated at a red light at the intersection of Inwood Road and North Stemmons Freeway.
“,I just seen this black SUV just fly by, going actually the wrong way,” Wils added. “I just remember seeing debris flying and other things like that, and the back of his car just raising up and swerving a little bit, even though it was loud.” That’s all I can recall.
“I just said a quick little prayer, because that vehicle was torn up,” Wils went on.
Rashid Cruz witnessed the crash’s aftermath when he was filling up his automobile at the petrol station.
“It was pretty bad, and it was pretty shocking,” Cruz stated.

Webber was charged with murder, fleeing arrest by driving a car that caused death, using a vehicle without permission, and carrying a firearm illegally when he was taken to the Dallas County Jail.
According to an affidavit for an arrest warrant, Webber had allegedly committed a robbery earlier in the day and had run away from Burleson police.
Additionally, a black Glock model.357 was discovered within the vehicle.
Webber informed police he was from Chicago and had a Chicago tattoo on his arm, despite the arrest warrant stating he resided in Las Vegas.
According to reports, the Wagoneer Webber was operating during the pursuit was stolen from Chicago.
