On the same day that it was officially announced that Mike McCarthy would not be signing a new deal with the Cowboys, the news broke.
Is Sanders going to be the next coach? Insiders in the team are dubious.

Jones has already discussed the learning curve associated with taking over as head coach.
Moore adds that although it is possible, it would be very difficult to hire someone who has never been an NFL coach.
That isn’t his first option, in my opinion. Moore remarked, “I believe it is someone who has previously won in this league.”
Does Deion Sanders fit with the Cowboys make sense?
Sanders only served as a collegiate coach, having a 27-6 record at Jackson State and a 13-12 record at Colorado.
Although Moore refers to Jones and Sanders as “birds of a marketing feather,” he queries whether either would feel comfortable sharing the spotlight.
Michael Irvin says he intends to discuss Deion Sanders with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson battle. Netflix is currently streaming Paul vs. Tyson worldwide.
In the past, Sanders’ old teammate Michael Irvin made hints that he would speak with Jerry about hiring Coach Prime for the Cowboys.
Additionally, it’s unclear if Sanders would be open to coaching in Dallas.
Although Deion has previously stated that he would not play in the NFL, he has expressed interest in the opportunity to coach both of his sons.
Shadeur Sanders, a quarterback, is anticipated to be selected highly in this year’s draft.
Security Shilo Sanders might be selected in the late round.
Sanders’ Colorado contract would need to be bought out if the Cowboys were to hire him.
The current price for Sanders’ buyout is $8 million.
