WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas—A convicted felon and abduction suspect was taken into custody by White Settlement police following a pursuit that resulted in a collision in Fort Worth.
It all began on Friday when a 911 call was placed from inside the Westworth Village Walmart.
A dispatcher was informed by the woman that she had been abducted. According to her, the suspect was in the parking lot in a white van with Wisconsin license plates.
Officers noticed a white van that fit that description leave as they got to the store.
White Settlement police officers turned on their lights and sirens after seeing the van at a red light on Highway 183. There was a chase after the suspect drove off.
According to the police, Reginald Jameson, 52, struck a van and a pickup vehicle at the intersection of Camp Bowie Boulevard and Alta Mere Drive in Fort Worth after running two red lights.
According to White Settlement police, they are pursuing a man who is suspected of kidnapping a woman and holding her captive for four days. She got out of the Walmart shop and asked for assistance. A fast-paced pursuit with stun guns and a white van ensued.
However, the pursuit didn’t stop there.
“He obviously doesn’t care what he’s doing, so that didn’t stop him. He’s attempting to escape. After the collision, he exits the van and begins to run on foot, according to White Settlement Police Officer Chris Cook. “He went through a few eateries. ultimately crosses Camp Bowie Boulevard once more before attempting to scale a fence to enter another establishment.
An cop can be seen on body camera footage stunning Jameson while two other officers come to assist in handcuffing and arresting him.
“Just grateful that our officers were in the right place at the right time and that he was not able to get away,” Cook stated. “Because he intended to distance himself as much as possible. He intended to try to leave as soon as he discovered the woman had managed to escape his van.
According to Chief Cook, the abducted woman seemed to be doing well. She claimed that since Sunday, she had been detained without her will.
When the van struck a red light, a mother and her kids were inside, but they were unharmed.
Jameson was wanted in Wisconsin for a family violence case and has a long criminal history.
Jameson was taken to the jail in Tarrant County. He is currently facing a number of other counts, such as assault, family violence, avoiding arrest, and kidnapping.
