The backstory
The shooting took place in the 5800 block of Westgate Drive early on January 15.
Officers were responding to a 911 call regarding a domestic violence situation, according to the police. According to reports, the suspect was threatening everyone inside the house while brandishing a knife.
Adame’s mother, who had dialed 911, opened the front entrance of the house when the police arrived, but she had trouble opening a second metal-screen door.
Man killed in Fort Worth police shooting after charging officers with knives
A guy with knives was shot dead by Fort Worth police early Wednesday after he charged at them after a domestic dispute.
Officers saw 28-year-old Brandon Adame, the suspect, acting violently toward his mother and still brandishing a knife during that time.
While other officers moved around back to enter the residence in a separate method, one cop attempted to speak with Adame. To protect the victim, they attempted to break in through the back door.
According to the police, Adame charged at the officers with knives in each hand as they kicked in the back door. He was killed when two cops opened fire.
Officers and other household members were not hurt.
Body Camera Video Released
The 911 call begins the police-released video of the shooting.
Adame may be heard shouting, “I’m gonna —— kill you,” in the background.
“Please don’t, Mijo. “I apologize,” his mother pleads. “I apologize, Mijo. Don’t slap me anymore, Mijo. Don’t hit me any more, please.”
Officers can then be seen approaching the family’s front door from the first body camera angle. A knife may be seen through the screen door when it is slowed down.
When Adame discovers that the officers are unable to enter through the closed front door, he can be heard chuckling.
“Just give me a call. “Simply speak to me,” an officer commands. “Hey, get away from her.”
Officers can be seen kicking in the back door on video captured by a second officer’s body camera.
The man is seen charging at officers as soon as the back door opens, and gunfire breaks out.
“Cease. Stay put. “Remain motionless,” the officer commands. “Drop the firearm. Put down the knife.
Adame is already on the ground by then.

“You can hear in the 911 call from the mother the desperation in her voice, the fear, begging her own son not to hit her anymore and not to kill her as he was telling her he was going to kill her with the knife,” Noakes stated. “I like that the officers didn’t try to hurry things when they arrived. They made an effort to speak with this man. communicated to him that they didn’t want to harm him and attempted to reason with him. Additionally, they were aware that homicidal violence was a real threat.
According to Chief Noakes, his officers were given an option and choose to defend themselves, as he anticipates they would do.
“This was not a situation where they could sit back and just wait because of the ongoing deadly threat to the mother,” he stated. “They needed to do something. It was the best they could do. They followed our instructions when confronted with a lethal threat.
Although Fort Worth occasionally collaborates with mental health specialists on calls, the chief stated that there was insufficient time for that individual to get at the site.

The case will be examined by both outside and internal investigators.
Until the investigations were concluded, the concerned officers were placed on administrative leave.
