Fatal crash in Arlington
A motorbike and an SUV collided at the intersection of E. Abram Street and New York Avenue, prompting Arlington police to respond.
Lusk was discovered unconscious in the road when they got to the scene. After being brought to a nearby hospital, he was later declared dead from his wounds.
The inquiry:
Investigators think the motorcycle struck a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was attempting to turn left from the westbound lanes of Abram Street into New York Avenue while riding east at a high speed.
Lusk was flung off his bike by the force of the collision, and the Jeep collided with a 2009 Hyundai Sonata that was stopped at a traffic light on New York Avenue.
Investigators think the biker was traveling over 90 miles per hour at the time of the collision based on their examination of the evidence and examination of the crash scene.
The Jeep’s driver cooperated with the inquiry, stayed on the site, and dialed 911 right away. There are no criminal charges against her in relation to this occurrence.
She was unharmed, as was the Sonata’s driver.
