Posantes, Carlos Humberto Galindo
We know:
The shooting took place at a residence in the 800 block of Harbor Drive back in November 2023.
“We have Carlos Humberto Galindo Posantes as our suspect,” said Det. Scott Kelly of Lewisville Police. “Mr. Posantes and his spouse lived in this home for a number of years. The victim was given a bedroom as a sublease. Marco Polo Hernandez Mejia is his name.
Posantes and his spouse rented the house. They would rent out the house’s extra rooms to other people.
The detective claims that after Mejia was three days over due on her rent, the two got into a fight. Posantes shot Mejia to death at the end. But the shooting wasn’t reported right away.
“The Lewisville Police Department was contacted by another agency because of a vehicle that was abandoned in their roadway,” said Kelly. “They had that car towed. They also discovered a pistol on the front passenger seat as they were doing this. This is where the registered owner returned.
Officers spoke with Posantes’ wife after visiting the house where his truck was registered.
“He wasn’t at home. “She wasn’t concerned,” Kelly added. “The following day, they returned. She wanted to report someone missing since she was now concerned.
Mejia, Marco Polo Hernandez
According to the investigator, they must inspect the house to make sure the person isn’t hiding there before filing a missing person’s report.
“So the patrol officer checked the residence, and that’s when he discovered Mr. Mejia’s body in the backyard.”
After killing Mejia, investigators think Posantes attempted to conceal his body.
“There is no doubt that the gunshot occurred at the threshold of the kitchen’s back door. “They left cartridge casings there,” Kelly claimed. “Then there’s some blood that follows around the patio, leads into the grassy area in the backyard and then around the side of the house.”
