The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and FOX 4 are collaborating once more to assist with toy collection.

In Rockwall County, Thursday’s toy drive was new, even though Toys for Tots has been around for decades.
Rockwall County’s coordinator for Toys for Tots is Jeff Skinner.
“We began this in 2018, and there were around three of us involved. He remarked, “We need toys for the kids here. We’re Marines.” Growing raised in the Mesquite region, it holds great significance for me. When I was little, I needed toys. As a Marine, it was easy to figure out what was going on.
The goal of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign is to gather thousands of toys for kids. Paige Ellenberger of FOX 4 offers us a detailed peek at the warehouse’s backstage operations.
Students from the county’s schools took part in the activity.
The children may play in the gingerbread houses, bouncy houses, and fake snow.
The mother of a volunteer cheerleader from Rockwall is Jennifer Jones.
“They donate toys to CASA programs, foster kids, just a spot in my heart for that,” she continued. “It s very surprising to see all these boxes lined up, and the care in the community is very heartwarming.”
There were hundreds of toys gathered.
According to Skinner, this evening was made possible by the community joining together.
“By me giving my time for Toys for Tots and looking at these kids who will have a Christmas who might not have, I sleep peacefully knowing that,” he stated.
Toys for Tots will take place in Waxahachie on Friday.
Between 5 and 9 p.m., you can drop off a brand-new, unwrapped item at Railyard Park on College Street.
