Country music legend Toby Keith, who passed away in early 2024, was known for his dedication to supporting children battling cancer in his home state of Oklahoma. In his final television interview with News 9’s Robin Marsh, Keith spoke about his commitment to helping these children and their families.
The Toby Keith Foundation has now announced a fundraising campaign to create a $10 million endowment. This endowment will secure the future of the OK Kid’s Korral, a free home away from home for children fighting cancer in Oklahoma. The Korral was established to ease the burden on families by providing them with a comfortable place to stay during treatment.
Keith described the OK Kid’s Korral as “Ritz Carlton meets Disney World, and it’s free.” However, he also emphasized the ongoing need for funds to keep it running. Now that Toby has passed, the foundation aims to raise $10 million to ensure the Korral’s financial stability for the future.

Juliet Nees-Bright, the executive director of The Toby Keith Foundation, explained that the endowment will allow the funds to grow over time through interest. She stated, “The OK Kid’s Korral is going to be around longer than I’m around, and it is going to be able to help kids with cancer for years and years to come.” For more information or to donate to the Toby Keith Foundation, please visit their website.
