Texas’s ColonyA homeless guy who was camped in an empty field during the winter months was killed in a fire, according to the Colony police.

We know:

Around 6 a.m. on Friday, police say they received many 911 reports regarding a brushfire in an empty field along State Highway 121 between Home Depot and Rooms To Go.

A homeless guy was discovered dead among the rubble after firemen put out the fire.

According to investigators, the man was asleep on a mattress when the surrounding flames set it on fire.

It seemed like a homeless camp in that wooded region.

Since Thursday, three to five inches of snow had fallen on the area. Thursday night and Friday morning saw temperatures below freezing.

Until the victim’s kin are informed, the victim’s name has not been made public.
