The Best Restaurant in Idaho’s Village at Meridian Is Shut Down Permanently!

Best Restaurant in Idaho’s Village at Meridian is Shutting Down Permanently

The Village at Meridian, a vibrant shopping and dining hub that marked its tenth anniversary last October, is set to bid farewell to one of its beloved tenants. Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar, a staple at The Village, has announced its impending closure, with the restaurant’s final day of operation slated for August 15.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar expressed deep regret over the closure. The restaurant’s management shared their disappointment at being unable to extend their lease agreement with CenterCal Properties, the company overseeing The Village. Despite their efforts to negotiate a new lease, CenterCal opted not to renew the existing contract, leading to the restaurant’s departure.

The closing of Twigs Bistro is particularly significant given its long-standing presence at The Village. The restaurant was one of the original tenants when the shopping center opened, and its departure marks a notable shift in the center’s dynamic. Twigs Bistro was known for its upscale ambiance and extensive martini menu, making it a favorite among both locals and visitors.

Shortly after Twigs announced its closure, reports emerged that CenterCal Properties is already preparing for a new tenant to fill the space. The details of the new restaurant are still under wraps, but it has been confirmed that it will be a groundbreaking addition, being the first of its kind in Idaho. The anticipation surrounding the new tenant has sparked curiosity and excitement within the community, though specific information remains scarce.

This development follows another recent departure at The Village. Calle 75 Street Tacos, which had operated a counter at the shopping center for a decade, also closed its location on Valentine’s Day this year. While Calle 75 continues its operations in Downtown Boise and through its food truck and catering services, its exit has left a noticeable gap in The Village’s dining options.

The Village at Meridian, which has largely seen an influx of new businesses over the years, is now experiencing a phase of transition as several original tenants conclude their ten-year leases. The departure of Twigs Bistro and Calle 75 reflects broader trends in the retail and dining sectors, where businesses frequently reassess their locations and leases.
