Texas’s MesquiteSomeone stole a contribution jar from a pet store in Mesquite on Saturday, depriving a charity animal rescue organization.

The Mesquite PetSmart location was the scene of the Saturday afternoon theft.
For her nonprofit, Hannah’s Southern Paws, Hannah Fugitt claimed she had set up a table inside the store and was now gathering donations and looking for homes for her rescued animals.
“We are a 501c3 nonprofit rescue organization. We concentrate on rescuing homeless, neglected, or abandoned dogs and cats that wind up at shelters for a variety of reasons,” she stated.
According to Fugitt, someone grabbed the jar containing the monetary donations from the public when she briefly looked away from the table.
“As soon as I turned around, I heard a shout: Hey! Go around. She added, “There’s a hooded individual with my donation jar who’s running out the door.”
A man can be seen carrying a jar as he rushes out of the store, gets into the passenger side of a white sedan, and speeds off in the video that was given to FOX 4.
Observe what transpired:
The robber is shown racing from the store with the donation jar to a waiting car on cellphone footage taken by someone in the parking lot.
He climbed into the passenger seat of a white vehicle registered in Oklahoma.
In the footage, a number of individuals can be seen chasing after him while using their phones.
One of them took a picture of the license plate of the car, which Fugitt claimed she sent to Mesquite police.
Reasons to be concerned:
According to Fugitt, her group is a foster-based rescue. This indicates that it lacks a physical structure. Until the animals are able to find permanent homes, volunteers offer them temporary residences.
“When I say we are a nonprofit I truly mean we rely solely on donations and the support from the community to take care of these animals,” she stated. “When I saw that donation jar being carried away, I mean, it completely shattered my heart.”

According to Mesquite police, the theft is being looked into.
Fugitt wants to tell the money-grubbing people something.
“You didn’t deprive me of my humanity. A large tsunami is created when you take from several defenseless creatures. It’s not a good wave, either. And, you know, please consider the potential effects of doing these types of things in the future before doing them,” she urged.
