Kevin Jennings is the quarterback for the Mustangs.
This season, Jennings has thrown for 3,050 yards, 22 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, making him a budding star.
Early in the season, the quarterback shared playing time with starter Preson Stone.
Coach Rhett Lashlee selected Jennings as the team’s starting quarterback following a defeat against BYU.

Jennings was raised in the Oak Cliff suburb of Dallas.
In 2021, he guided South Oak Cliff High School to the 5A Division II state title.
Even though he was a good player for the Golden Bears, Jennings was merely a three-star high school recruit.
He agreed to join SMU’s team.

SMU will play No. 3 Boise State and Ashton Jeanty, a former star of the Frisco Lone Stars, if they can upset Penn State.
