A man from Upstate South Carolina is facing serious legal trouble after authorities discovered him in possession of two stolen vehicles. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) reported that on June 25, Damien Renauld Williams Sr. was caught with a 2018 Chevy Camaro SS and a 2022 Dodge Ram, both of which were confirmed to be stolen.
According to SLED, the Camaro was reported stolen from Atlanta in April, while the Dodge Ram was taken from East Point, Georgia, in February. Investigators found the vehicles on McCormick Highway in the Bradley community, a rural area of South Carolina.
Williams is accused of knowingly trying to hide the Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) of both the Camaro and the Ram, a common tactic used to make stolen vehicles harder to trace. This has led to Williams being charged with multiple crimes, including two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle and two counts of possession of a vehicle with an altered VIN.
Following his arrest, Williams was booked into the Greenwood County Detention Center, where he is being held on these charges. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to crack down on vehicle theft and related crimes, particularly those that cross state lines.
