Texas’s ShermanAfter the 8-year-old girl’s SUV crashed and went into a flooded drainage ditch, crews in Sherman are searching for her.
What We Know: According to Sherman Police, on the morning of Christmas Eve, an SUV containing six individuals crashed on Highway 75, close to Taylor Street, when it was going from Oklahoma to McKinney.
Because of the intense rain that was falling at the time, police think the SUV hydroplaned. The SUV was washed down the ditch by the waves.
Rescuers labored to free the people inside the SUV. The girl swept away in the creek, and one person perished.
Two of the four people who were saved required hospitalization. On Wednesday, they were both discharged from the hospital.
On Wednesday, searches at the creek resumed.
Numerous first responders, including state workers, have scoured the stream for around seven miles, according to the police, but the missing girl has not been found.
Currently, law enforcement is focusing on a few potential additional places throughout the county.
Tonight, searches will go on until dark, and if she is not located, they will resume Thursday morning.
What We Don’t Know: Neither the girl nor the family involved in the collision have been named by the police.
