Second arrest made in deadly Frisco Walmart shooting

FRISCO, Texas:A second person has been taken into custody by police in relation to the fatal shooting at a Frisco Walmart.

In relation to the shooting death of 22-year-old Ja’Karrion Craig in November of last year, Jada Mansfield, 24, has been charged with murder.

The backstory

Frisco police responded to a gunshot at the Walmart on Eldorado Parkway and FM 423 on November 13, 2024.

Police discovered 22-year-old Ja Karrion Craig in the parking lot, suffering from several gunshot wounds to his foot and torso. Craig passed away after being brought to a local hospital.

Police were informed by a 9-1-1 caller that the alleged shooter fled in a gray vehicle.

Suspects arrested months apart

We know:

Denton resident Jerry Johnson, 22, was named as a suspect in the shooting.

The following morning, Johnson was placed under arrest.

According to Frisco police, they kept following up on leads in the case and in mid-December gathered sufficient proof to issue an arrest warrant for Dallas resident Jada Mansfield.

Mansfield was arrested in Garland on Saturday, January 11.

She faces murder charges and is presently being held at the Denton County Jail.
