In Sunday’s NFC Championship game victory over the Washington Commanders, the Eagles rushed for seven touchdowns.

The Dallas Cowboys have now scored one additional touchdown on the ground this season.

Dak Prescott ran in one touchdown, Rico Dowdle scored two, and Ezekiel Elliott scored three for the Cowboys.

With just six running touchdowns overall, the Cowboys led the league.

This season, the Cowboys failed to score more than one running touchdown in a single game.

Throughout the regular season, the Eagles ran for 29 touchdowns. The only team with more was the Buffalo Bills (32).

The backstory

During the offseason, the Dallas Cowboys’ rushing offense was largely disregarded.

In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Cowboys did not select a running back.

Ezekiel Elliott, who was cut prior to the season’s last game, was re-signed by Dallas.

Saquon Barkley, a free agent acquired by the Eagles, scored three rushing touchdowns on Sunday.

Josh Jacobs of the Green Bay Packers and Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens were both free agents this summer.

The three backs all qualified for the Pro Bowl.

Malik Davis and Deuce Vaughn are currently under contract with the Cowboys.

Rico Dowdle, the best running back from the previous season, is a free agent.

In the NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys are selected with the 12th overall pick.

According to a number of predictions, the Cowboys will pick a running back in the first round.

Ashton Jeanty, a former Frisco Lone Star standout and Heisman Trophy nominee, has emerged as a potential candidate.

Other standout running backs are Kaleb Johnson of Iowa, Dylan Sampson of Tennessee, Cam Skattebo of Arizona State, and Omarion Hampton of North Carolina.

Aaron Jones, Nick Chubb, Javonte Williams, Najee Harris, and J.K. Dobbins are among the top free agent running backs.
