Pedestrian killed while crossing without crosswalk at night in Arlington

Arlington, TexasPolice in Arlington say a 53-year-old man was murdered Monday night when he was jaywalking across an intersection.

What we know The man was discovered unconscious in the street shortly after 6:30 p.m. when first responders were called to the 2000 block of E. Pioneer Parkway. At the scene, he was declared dead.

Investigators found that the individual was hit by a westbound 2016 Lexus ES 350 while crossing the roadway in a northbound direction without utilizing a crosswalk.

The driver stayed at the site and cooperated with investigations, according to police, who said the driver was neither fast nor drunk. The driver has not been charged with any crimes in connection with this occurrence.

Police in Arlington are asking people to stay off the roadways at night when visibility is poor and to utilize the marked crosswalks.
