Three suspects confronted Chapman in August 2023 as he was conducting surveillance in an unmarked Dodge Challenger.

As Chapman retreated from his vehicle, the suspects’ firearms flashed their muzzles on camera from a neighboring structure before firing back.

Chapman sustained a leg injury.

After stealing Chapman’s vehicle, the men drove away. A short distance away, the car was discovered abandoned.

According to Dallas police, the suspects were linked to Louisiana by evidence found at the crime scene.
