Around 3:20 p.m., police said they received many 911 reports regarding a guy brandishing his gun at onlookers and passing vehicles.
Police claim they verbally ordered the man to drop his guns multiple times when they arrived, but he refused. According to the police, he pointed his gun at them, and they shot him. He was taken in critical condition to the hospital.
According to Interim Dallas Police Chief Michael Igo, “the officers immediately provided first aid on the suspect until Dallas Fire Rescue arrived.”

Dallas ISD stated that the primary school, which was only a block away from the incident, was unaffected because classes had already ended for the day.
