On Monday morning, former officer Filemon Perez turned himself in at the Denton County jail.
His mugshot was taken, and he was booked in.
Perez was charged by Lewisville police last week of having inappropriate intercourse with a civilian during Thanksgiving week while he was in uniform.
After hearing about the alleged assault, the department launched a criminal and internal inquiry.
After being informed that he will be sacked, Perez resigned on Tuesday.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on Wednesday on allegations of sexual assault and official oppression.
Lewisville Police Chief Brook Rollins stated, “We will continue to pursue this incident to bring justice to the victim, even though we are unable to comment further on this specific matter due to the ongoing criminal investigation.”
According to police, this incident has nothing to do with the department’s prostitution scandal from earlier this year.
