Texas’s LewisvilleDue to a water main break, the City of Lewisville is advising citizens to boil their water before drinking it.
The city has announced that Lewisville ISD would close 21 campuses and facilities on Monday. The district should have sent out an email notification to parents at the affected sites.

We know:
After a 30-inch line burst on February 2, 2025, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality ordered the City of Lewisville to issue a boil water advisory.
To eliminate any harmful bacteria, residents are advised to boil their water before using it for cooking, drinking, brushing their teeth, or washing their hands and face.
You can use bottled water or water from other appropriate sources.
On Saturday night, many people experienced a brief period without water.
Throughout the night, crews labored to fix the pipe.
More than 600 eateries were contacted by health inspectors on Sunday to inform them of the boil water notice and safe operating procedures.
What is unknown to us:
We are still unsure of how long residents will have to boil their water.
The boil water advisory will remain in effect for at least one day, according to the city.
Customers will receive a notification informing them when the boil water advisory has been withdrawn.

How to Properly Boil Water During Boil Water Notice
Water should be boiled and chilled before use to ensure that any dangerous bacteria have been eliminated.
Bring the water to a roaring, vigorous boil and let it cook for two minutes.
