Knife-wielding man who ‘wanted to harm police’ shot and killed by DeSoto police officer

DESOTO, Texas:A DeSoto police officer shot and killed a guy with a knife who had called 911 and claimed he meant to harm officers.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Friday, a gunshot occurred at a residence close to the intersection of Shadywood Road and Hunter’s Creek Drive.

According to the police, Arthur Armstrong Jr., 26, called 911 and said he wanted to hurt officers and had multiple weapons.

The man “immediately approached officers aggressively” when they arrived, according to DeSoto police, and was in the front yard with two knives. They claim that when he got closer to the cops, he disobeyed multiple orders to stop and drop the weapons.

Armstrong was shot once in the chest by an officer. After being taken to the hospital, he was declared dead.
