Under the meticulous coordination of academy coordinator Shelly Towner, the event showcased a seamless blend of education and hands-on experience. Participants were privileged to visit prominent aviation facilities in Boise, including the Boise Air Traffic Control Tower, where they gained invaluable insights into air traffic management and operational protocols.

A highlight of the academy was the Mission Aviation Fellowship’s state-of-the-art flight simulator, which provided students with realistic flight scenarios and practical training exercises. Additionally, tours of the Boise Airport offered a behind-the-scenes look at essential airport operations, with a special demonstration from a bomb-detecting dog capturing the students’ imagination and emphasizing the critical role of security in aviation.

The academy also facilitated visits to key aviation organizations, such as the Idaho National Guard, where students learned about career opportunities in rotary and fixed-wing aircraft operations. At Skywest Airlines, participants explored the complexities of commercial airline operations, while Western Aircraft showcased the intricacies of turbo-prop and business jet aviation.
