On Tuesday, at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, Idaho’s four presidential electors formally cast their votes in the Electoral College for President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.
According to official state election statistics, Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris by a whopping 66.9% of the vote to 30.4% in the general election held in Idaho in November.
To watch the electors cast the state’s four Electoral College votes for Trump, over 150 people flocked to the Idaho State Capitol’s Lincoln Auditorium on Tuesday.

The four electors made an appearance on the ballots of the 2024 Idaho general election after being chosen at the 2024 Idaho Republican Party State Convention. Other Democratic electors would have cast ballots in the Electoral College if Vice President Kamala Harris had defeated Trump in Idaho.
Trump supporters affiliated with the Freedom Foundation and Idaho Republican Party
All four of Idaho’s Trump electors have ties to the Idaho Freedom Foundation or Idaho Republican Party.
In June, Keen, a Boise resident, was chosen to serve as the national committeewoman at the 2024 Idaho Republican Party State Convention. Keen was the Idaho GOP’s state finance chair before becoming an elected precinct committeewoman. According to state campaign finance records, since 2020, Keen has donated $26,331 to conservative Republican politicians and committees. Keen has provided financial support to former state senator Priscilla Giddings, R-White Bird, Idaho Republican Party chairwoman Dorothy Moon, and former lieutenant governor Janice McGeachin. J. LaMont Keen, the former CEO of Idaho Power, is Keen’s spouse.
Mollenkopf-Moore, a representative of Region VI on the executive board of the Idaho Republican Party, claimed to reside in Boise County. Since 2020, Mollenkopf-Moore has made 15 financial contributions to political candidates or committees, according to state campaign finance filings. Mollenkopf-Moore made contributions to a number of conservative Republican authorities and politicians, such as Giddings’ unsuccessful 2022 candidacy for lieutenant governor and Moon’s failed 2022 bid for secretary of state. Mollenkopf-Moore gave $1,000 to anti-government activist Ammon Bundy’s unsuccessful independent gubernatorial campaign, who competed against incumbent Republican Governor Brad Littlestate, just days before the general election in 2022, according to campaign finance reports.In the same way that she flew to Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021, to support Trump, Mollenkopf-Moore stated she would like to attend Trump’s inauguration on January 20 before voting in the Electoral College on Tuesday.
During public remarks Tuesday prior to casting her Electoral College ballot, Mollenkopf-Moore stated, “You know, I am one brave woman, and I also was there on Jan. 6. I was there since I’ve always enjoyed seeing historical sites. I witnessed what was happening when I returned to support President Trump. I witnessed the reality of what was taking place that day. I consequently realized it was untrue when the media began to report on what they said had occurred. Not true.
According to the final report of the U.S. House committee that looked into the events surrounding the Jan. 6 attack, a violent mob of Trump supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6 in an attempt to prevent Congress from counting the Electoral College votes to officially declare President Joe Biden the winner after Trump falsely claimed the 2020 election was rigged.
Regan and Beck were Idaho’s other two Electoral College electors.
Regan is the chairman of the board of directors of the Idaho Freedom Foundation and the executive director of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee.
A resident of Idaho Falls, Beck is a businessman and a former chairman of the Bonneville County Republican Central Committee. In addition, Beck is a member of the board of directors of the Idaho Freedom Foundation. Beck claimed that although he did not back Trump in 2016, he now proudly supports him because he believes that Trump has matured and learned.
According to state campaign finance records, since 2020, Beck and Regan have each given more than $100,000 to political candidates and committees.
