Texas natives Beyonc, Mark Cuban, Joe Rogan, and Elon Musk all made headlines lately for a variety of reasons.
How Texans feel about some of those well-known people in the state was the subject of a recent survey.
This is their response.
Most Controversial
Based on the figures:
Texas Politics at the University of Texas 1,200 voters in Texas were asked what they thought of a number of well-known Texans.
Elon Musk
Forty-four percent of Texans had a positive opinion of Elon Musk, who has embraced Texas as his home state, while thirty percent had a negative opinion.
Musk’s popularity among Republicans increased after he sided with Donald Trump, the incoming president.
Musk was viewed favorably by just 27% of Democrats.
Beyonc
Among the more contentious individuals on the list was Beyonc.
According to the research, 39 percent of Americans had a positive opinion of the Houston-raised signer, while 34 percent had a negative opinion.
The partisan divide was very obvious, with Republicans far more inclined to see Beyonc badly and Democrats much more likely to support her.
Jerry Jones
The only individual on the list with more negative than positive opinions from Texans was Jerry Jones, the general manager and owner of the Dallas Cowboys.
Twenty-eight percent of respondents indicated they had a negative opinion of Jones, compared to 24 percent who said they had a positive opinion.
Joe Rogan
In recent years, comedian and podcaster Joe Rogan has moved to Austin.
According to the poll, 42% of Texans had a positive opinion of Rogan.
Only 21% had a negative opinion of him.
Mark Cuban
Mark Cuban, a minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, aggressively supported Democrat Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential race.
Twenty-five percent of Texans had a negative opinion of Cuban, while 39 percent had a positive opinion.
Among Democrats, the self-described Independent’s numbers skyrocketed.

Additionally, a few of the celebrities on the list received a great deal of support from their fellow Texans.

Willie Nelson
The poll found that Texans had the most positive opinion of singer Willie Nelson.
Just 8% of respondents had a negative impression of Nelson, compared to 58% who claimed they had a positive opinion.
Matthew McConaughey
According to the survey, Texans also thought highly of actor Matthew McConaughey.
Similar to Nelson’s figures, McConaughey’s favorability was 58 percent, while only 8 percent expressed a negative impression.
Simone Biles
Another well-liked celebrity on the list was Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.
Eight percent of respondents thought poorly of the Spring, Texas native, compared to 56 percent who thought favorably of her.
Nolan Ryan
Nolan Ryan, a former pitcher for the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, was disliked by nearly all Texans.
According to the survey, only 3% of Texans had a negative opinion of The Ryan Express.
Selena Gomez
Singer Selena Gomez, who grew up in Grand Prairie, was also well-regarded.
According to the poll, Gomez received a favorable rating of 49% and a negative rating of 13%.
The Origin:A University of Texas-Texas Politics Project survey provided the data for this article. From December 9–17, 2024, 1,200 self-reported registered voters in Texas were asked to participate in the survey.
