Rockwall, Texas:On Tuesday morning, a sizable crowd is anticipated at a Greenville police officer’s funeral.
Last week, Officer Cooper Dawson lost his life while performing his duties. Following a traffic stop, the 27-year-old officer was pursuing a suspect when he was shot and killed.
On Tuesday morning, the hearse bearing the casket of Officer Cooper Dawson arrived at Lake Point Church in Rockwall for his funeral, as Greenville and Garland first responders stood at attention.

Officer Dawson dedicated his life to serving others. Prior to joining the Greenville Police Department, he was a Garland police officer and a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.
His wife and three small children are left behind.
His passing is Greenville’s first line-of-duty fatality in over a century.
