Community members were irritated by the board’s refusal to disclose the nature of the accusations. Although it’s unclear when, one trustee pledged that the findings of an investigation into Dr. Jorge Arredondo would be made public.
The board has failed to address the accusations publicly and has only spoken about them behind closed doors.
After suing the board, Arredondo was granted a court order that stopped the district from terminating him. However, the board filed a notice to have the matter transferred to federal court, so that temporary restraining order was no longer in effect.
Whether Arredondo intends to challenge his dismissal is unknown.
Arredondo was contacted by FOX 4 for comment.
On June 24, Arredondo was appointed superintendent of GPISD.
