GARLAND, Texas:Due to a gas leak, a portion of Walnut Street in Garland was closed.
What We Know: According to the city of Garland, a gas line was struck by a contractor doing city utilities work on Wednesday morning close to the junction of Jupiter Road and Walnut Street.
To allow for renovations, westbound Walnut Street at Jupiter Road is currently closed.
However, traffic is permitted to turn onto Jupiter Road.
No evacuations were called, and no one was harmed.
What We Do Not Know: The exact date of the intersection’s reopening is still unknown.
According to Garland officials, the gas line has already been shut down by an Atmos technician, and repairs are in progress.
