GARLAND, Texas:The terrible shooting death of a woman early this morning is being looked into by Garland detectives. Garland Police responded to complaints of a gunshot wound at an apartment complex in the 4500 block of Chaha Road on January 21, 2025, at before two in the morning.

We know:

Officers discovered a woman with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. After being brought to the hospital, she passed away.

According to the police inquiry, a guy and two women were involved in a disturbance.

Robert Ray Kelly, 39, of Dallas, shot one of the women during the dispute and fled the scene before police could arrive, according to the police.

Detectives think this is an isolated incident and are investigating the circumstances that led to it.
