Texas’s Fort WorthOn Sunday, many braved the cold to attend the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

People had to walk from building to building, even though the majority of the events took place indoors.

People dressed appropriately for the extreme cold.

According to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, they have procedures and plans in place in case of snow or ice.

The sidewalks will be salted and sanded by crews.

Since they spend a lot of time outside, the animals are able to tolerate the freezing temperatures.

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo’s communications director, Matt Brockman, stated, “So what we try to do, aside from making an environment that is adequate for them, we want an environment that is comfortable for our guests.”

On Monday, there will be the Martin Luther King Cowboys of Color Rodeo.

Despite the persistently frigid weather, most activities are held indoors, so everything goes according to plan.

Cody Davenport and his family packed extra clothing in preparation.

“We saw the gradual change of the weather and each day we started adding more and more clothes to what we were gonna bring to stay warm,” Davenport added. “You have to be prepared for whatever weather Texas is gonna throw at you.”

Pamela Saenz, a recent Fort Worth resident, made sure to pack light so she could show her Florida-visiting friend all her new town has to offer.

“This morning it was 21 degrees, felt like 10,” Saenz added. “I think I have four layers on the top, two layers on the bottom, gloves.”
