Texas’s Fort WorthPolice in Fort Worth are looking into a shooting and attempted robbery that killed a 17-year-old on the north side of the city.
What We Know: The shooting occurred on Tuesday at approximately 3 p.m. on Berrenda Drive, which is located close to the Saginaw border west of Interstate 35.
One victim was confirmed dead by the police. He was recognized as Jaqualin Houston, 17, by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Two further individuals were brought to the hospital in an unidentified condition.
According to reports, detectives are investigating a robbery attempt in which the victim and the suspects were shot during the heist.
A few blocks from the gunshot scene, the 17-year-old’s death was discovered, although police have not commented on the circumstances surrounding the heist.
It’s unknown if he was dropped off, fled, or some other way got there.
What People Are Saying: Amanda Fisher’s family was eating when the shooting occurred in front of their house.
She remarked, “And then I heard like three bangs,”
According to her, she hurried outdoors and noticed a person in the neighboring West Fork Ranch Park who drew her attention.
“And we didn’t see anything, but we did see like one person run across the park,” she continued. “We aren’t exactly sure what happened.”
According to Fischer, children frequently hang out in the local park.
“I mean, you see teenagers at the park and, you know, you think they’re just being teenagers, you know, just messing around,” she continued.
The parents and families of the kid who was slain and the others hurt are on Fischer’s parents’ minds constantly.
Thomas Fischer remarked, “I mean, it’s a tragedy any other day but especially around the holidays,”
Barbara Fischer remarked, “It’ll affect everybody and their family forever.”
What’s Next: According to the police, they are currently interviewing all parties concerned.
