According to the affidavit, investigators found Sanders and Wheaton after receiving a tip from the police.
When Sanders was interviewed by police, she told them that she had been chatting to a man on Snapchat and was planning to see him, and that she had spent Thanksgiving with Wheaton and the two males.
According to the affidavit, she claimed that two guys approached them in the car brandishing firearms and that she fled before Wheaton could come get her.
The affidavit claims that after doing a forensic check on Sanders’ phone, officers discovered a group conversation in which she, Wheaton, and the two men discussed the robbery attempt.
