What We Know: Since an accident on Tuesday morning, state and local officials have been looking for an 8-year-old who has gone missing. The 8-year-old was named as Clara Robinson by Sherman police on Friday.
According to the police, an SUV transporting six passengers from Durant, Oklahoma to McKinney hydroplaned on Sherman’s Highway 75 and collided with a drainage ditch.
The SUV was carried to a nearby creek by water from the area’s intense downpour.
Clara’s father, Will Robinson, reportedly passed away while attempting to save his daughter, according to the police.

According to Sherman police, Robinson once held two young girls before they were split up.
Rescue workers rescued a 5-year-old girl out of the sea. At the moment, the girl did not respond. On the way to the hospital, paramedics resuscitate the girl by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

It’s incredible to be able to witness the resuscitation of that youngster. It’s that glimmer of faith that God is good during a time of tragedy like this,” said Jason Jeffcoat, chief of police in Sherman.
According to Sherman Fire-Rescue’s Bart Bowman, “it’s absolutely remarkable that she was released the next day with no injuries after a near drowning like that.”
