DALLAS—After a physical, former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot intends to sign with the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad.

In order for Elliott to potentially sign with a playoff team looking for an experienced back, the Cowboys released him in December.

The reunion between the Dallas Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott has ended without much fanfare.

The Chargers, the fifth-seeded team in the AFC, play Houston on Saturday in a wildcard game to begin the playoffs.

Elliott only got 74 carries for 226 yards in 15 games this season, averaging 3.1 yards per rush.
