DENTON, Texas:Five years after the disappearance of a Denton woman, a man has been charged with murder.

What we know: In relation to Angelique Hataway’s death, Don Edward Bullard, Jr., 60, has been charged with murder.

In April 2019, Hataway, 41, was reported missing. Later, police discovered that Hataway had not spoken to any family members since January.

Hataway and Bullard shared a rental home in the 500 block of N. Mayhill Road.

Bullard denied having any information of Hathaway’s whereabouts throughout many interviews with detectives.

According to Hataway’s missing person’s report, she required a wheelchair or walker due to her advanced multiple sclerosis.

The possibility of human remains buried behind the N. Mayhill property was reported to Denton Police in September 2024.

Human remains and objects known to belong to Hataway were discovered during a search of the property.

The remains were found to match Hataway’s family’s DNA tests on December 17.

On Thursday, December 19, Bullard was the subject of an arrest warrant.

Bullard is being held at the Denton County Jail on unrelated charges, according to the police.

According to court documents, Bullard was arrested on December 16 on a narcotics charge and for unlawfully possessing a handgun by a felon.

Bullard has been booked into the Denton County Jail four times this year, including the most recent arrest.

In January, he was detained for unlawfully possessing a firearm by a felon, and in June and September, he was arrested for trespassing.
