The Cowboys, who parted ways with Mike McCarthy earlier this offseason, are searching for a new head coach.

What they’re saying:

DeMarcus Ware stated on the Rich Eisen Show that Jason Witten might make an influence akin to that of Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell, another former Cowboys tight end.

Ware informed Eisen that “Jason Witten can be the coach for the Dallas Cowboys.” “He has a no-nonsense mentality.”

According to Ware, Witten is an offensive game expert who may make an excellent coach if paired with a strong defensive coordinator.

Under Witten, the former Cowboys pass rusher put his name forward as a potential linebackers coach.

“Certainly. “I would definitely think about that,” Ware answered.

There has been some discussion about Jason Witten, the head coach of Liberty Christian in Argyle, perhaps joining the Cowboys as their head coach.

Owner Jerry Jones stated last year that Witten might have a future as an NFL head coach in an interview with 105.3 The Fan.

Jones likened Witten to Campbell, as did Ware.

After allegedly declining many assistant coach positions with the NFL and college schools, Witten has been a high school coach since 2021.

Witten was previously mentioned by NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport as a potential assistant coach if the Cowboys hired Kellen Moore, the offensive coordinator for the Eagles.
