By the time Monday arrives, temperatures will have dropped significantly, so plan your outdoor activities for the next four days.
Strong Cold Front to Bring Freezing Temperatures to North Texas
What We Know: Next week, temperatures will be below average across most of the United States.
A powerful cold front is expected to move across North Texas sometime between Sunday afternoon and Sunday night.
Although there may be a few showers and rumbles along the front during the first part of the day, we don’t anticipate significant precipitation because the front is moving swiftly.
The cold will hit you right away.
Most of us will be in our upper 20s and early 30s by Monday morning.
We only anticipate temperatures in the mid 30s and low 40s on Monday afternoon.
Through at least Wednesday of next week, we anticipate lows in the high 20s and highs in the low 40s.
Although we’ve seen worse in January, it’s something to watch.
What We Don’t Know: It’s still unclear exactly when the cold front will move through. Forecast models during the past 24 hours indicate that the front is moving faster than we initially believed.
