For the most recent information on the winter storm that is approaching DFW, contact Dan Henry.

DallasAs we wait for snow on Thursday and into Friday morning, winter storm watches are in force for the majority of North Texas.

The forecast is still being adjusted, but this is the current situation as of Tuesday morning.

There will be major travel difficulties along the I-20 corridor, including DFW, due to widespread snow accumulations.

This is what we anticipate.

Is it going to snow on Thursday?

On Thursday, snow is likely to fall, but it won’t be all of it.

It will begin with a wintry mix south of the DFW area.

We’ll switch to the heavier snow that will persist on Thursday night.

The snow is expected to last until Friday morning before it moves out.

How many inches of snow are expected on Thursday?

Where you reside will determine how much snow you receive.

The north and east are where we anticipate the most snowfall.

As of this now, we anticipate that area receiving at least 3 to 6 inches.

We anticipate between two and four inches in the Metroplex.

We anticipate 1 to 3 inches to the northwest and south of DFW.

Note that these figures are subject to change!

If a layer of warm air persists longer than anticipated, that figure might be lower in the Metroplex. If the warm air leaves more quickly than we anticipate, the number can be larger.

Until the snow falls on Thursday, we will continue to adjust our forecast.
