DallasFor most of North Texas, a freezing fog advisory has been issued.
DFW Freezing Fog Advisory
For the counties of Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Montague, Rains, Rockwall, Tarrant, Van Zandt, and Wise, the Fort Worth National Weather Service issued the advisory.
Already, the roadways are getting dangerous. According to Denton Fire, they are responding to a large number of incidents throughout the city, primarily on bridges and overpasses.
As any snow and slush will refreeze overnight, road conditions are just going to grow worse.
Fog development is most likely to occur in areas covered with snow.
Black ice is likely to form on the roads due to the freezing fog. It will be less than three miles visible.
Until Saturday at 9 a.m., when temperatures are predicted to rise above freezing again, the alert is in force.

What is a Freezing Fog Advisory?
When fog forms and the surface temperature reaches or falls below freezing, the NWS issues an advisory. The fog’s tiny particles have the ability to rapidly freeze, making roads hazardous and slick. Usually, visibility is one mile or less.
Overnight Forecast
For North Texas, the snow and sleet are finished. By 9 p.m. on a frigid night, many places will be below freezing.
In our northern region, where there is more snow, overnight lows will drop into the upper teens. In other regions, the low to mid-20s will prevail.
Roads may refreeze in the early hours of Saturday morning due to the fog. With partly sunny skies, temperatures will rise to the mid-40s during the afternoon.
