Dallas Weather: Flash Flood Warnings expire in Dallas, Tarrant counties

DALLAS—On Thursday, storms brought heavy rain and a little hail to the DFW area.

Several counties in North Texas were under a flash flood warning on Thursday morning and afternoon, but it has already ended.

For much of East, Central, and Southeast Texas, a tornado watch has been issued.

The storms on Thursday occur on a busy day of travel for those entering and leaving North Texas.

Due to thunderstorms, flights are being grounded at Dallas Love Field and DFW Airport.

Love Field anticipates a ground halt until 11:30 a.m., while DFW’s is anticipated to conclude at 11 a.m.

In North Texas, rain is expected to start at around 9 a.m. and last until roughly 3 p.m. It is anticipated that the majority of thunderstorms will peak between 11 a.m. and noon.

To prevent hail damage during this time, residents should park their cars in protected spaces. Around 1 p.m., the hail risk is predicted to decrease.

Although the primary dangers are quarter-sized hail and severe gusts, there is a minor possibility of tornadoes in locations south of DFW, close to Palestine and Corsicana, due to humid Gulf air.
