Dallas weather: Christmas Eve showers and what to expect the rest of Christmas week

On Christmas Eve, storms are predicted to occur. How will that affect your plans? Evan Andrews, a FOX 4 meteorologist, walks you through the weather for this week.

This week, two storm systems are predicted, one of which may interfere with your plans on Christmas Eve.

Monday Forecast: Cloudy, Windy

On Monday, south breezes will absorb moisture from the Gulf.

There will likely be a lot of clouds, with occasional breaks, particularly to the west.

The high will be around ten degrees warmer than usual, in the mid-60s.

Winds ranging from 12 to 22 miles per hour will be present.

Although there is a 10% possibility of rain in the evening, the odds are against anything measurable.

Christmas Eve Forecast: Showers, Storms

Early on Christmas Eve, our first storm system moves into Texas.

Early in the morning, we anticipate showers and a few isolated storms, beginning in the north.

It appears to be going to be rainy, with a few thunderclaps from the morning until the early afternoon.

Small hail is a possibility, particularly to the east and south in the afternoon and early evening.

Christmas Day Forecast: White Christmas? Keep Dreaming

We anticipate that the rain will stop around Christmas Day, and there will be some fog and low clouds before afternoon breaks.

The light north breezes will shift to the east, making it slightly cooler, but it won’t feel too festive.

Wednesday’s high will be near 60 degrees, while the low will be in the 50s.

7-Day Forecast

On Thursday, the next storm system is predicted to arrive.

We now have a 70% chance of rain.

These storms have the potential to produce hail as large as a quarter and wind gusts of up to fifty miles per hour. Parts of southeast and east Texas are at risk for severe weather.

As Thursday draws nearer, check back for more precise timing.

Overall, the weekend appears to be ideal for travel, but there may be some rain overnight Friday into Saturday.

There are currently no concrete indications that we will have actual winter weather by the end of 2024 or perhaps the beginning of 2025!
