Dallas weather: Chance for severe storms on Thursday

DallasOn Thursday, there may be some strong to severe storms in North Texas.

Around 8 a.m., the storms are predicted to approach our western regions, pass through the Metroplex between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and depart our eastern counties at approximately 3 p.m.

Quarter-sized hail and potential wind gusts of 50 mph are the primary storm hazards.

If surface-based storms are able to form, there is also a minor chance of tornadoes in areas far east and southeast of Dallas, such as Navarro, Van Zandt, Henderson, Freestone, and Anderson counties.

Later in the day, the weather should clear up.
