DallasOver a month has passed since a gunshot in the east Oak Cliff community of Dallas claimed the life of a youngster.

The Backstory: Police say that a 7-year-old child was shot in a car on Wilhurt Avenue, close to E Illinois Avenue, on the evening of November 22.

In critical condition, the 7-year-old was brought to the hospital.

Davon Sewell, 18, and a minor were taken into custody and accused of aggravated assault on December 2.

Jaden Watson, 18, was also taken into custody on December 8 in relation to the Balch Springs incident. Aggravated assault was another charge against him.

A white Honda Civic pulled alongside the car carrying the child, according to an affidavit for an arrest warrant. A car was shot at by two suspects who were sitting in the back seat.

The allegations of aggravated assault have now been changed to capital murder.
