Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Interviews

Robert Saleh – Former head coach, New York Jets

We know:

On Saturday, January 18, Robert Saleh, the former head coach of the New York Jets, finished an interview with the Cowboys.

Following a lackluster season with the New York Jets, Saleh was let go.

He only had a 20-36 record in just over three seasons while he was in New York.

He has been recognized with constructing robust defenses in the past, despite the difficulties in New York.

Prior to joining the Jets, Saleh served as the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers from 2017 to 2020.

What is unknown to us:

Is Saleh interested in returning to a position where he is closely monitored?

Among the clubs in the league, the coach is one of the most attractive names.

There is no greater circus in the NFL than coaching the Dallas Cowboys, and some people think Saleh’s success may have been hindered by the circus surrounding the New York Jets.

Would Saleh choose a less well-known position or, as has been suggested, return to San Francisco, where he might be the league’s highest paid defensive coordinator?

Kellen Moore – Offensive Coordinator, Philadelphia Eagles

We know:

On Friday, January 17, Kellen Moore, the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, conducted a virtual interview with the Cowboys.

Moore is well-known to the Cowboys.

From 2015 to 2017, he was a backup quarterback for Dallas.

Moore went on to become the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

What is unknown to us:

Does anyone want to get back together?

Moore was once regarded favorably by the Cowboys, who let him depart.

Following the 2023 playoff loss, Dallas and Moore “mutually agreed” to split ways.

Moore later spent a season as the Los Angeles Chargers’ offensive coordinator.

After that, he became an offensive coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles, a rival team.

Leslie Frazier – Assistant head coach, Seattle Seahawks

We know:

According to DallasCowboys.com, an interview with former Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier is set for Monday, January 20.

In the NFL, Frazier played cornerback and helped the Chicago Bears win a Super Bowl in 1985.

Before being hired as the head coach in Minnesota, he made stops at a number of teams on the defensive end of the ball.

After going 21-32-1 in Minnesota, Frazier was let go in 2013.

What is unknown to us:

Frazier hasn’t held a head coaching position in a very long time.

Are the Cowboys a good fit for it?
