DALLAS—Adventure Landing in North Dallas is now owned by the city of Dallas.

Located along Coit Road next to the President George Bush Turnpike, the 30-year-old entertainment center has go-carts, mini golf, batting cages, an arcade, and other features.

Developers who were unwilling to continue the property’s entertainment tradition were the only bidders for the landowner’s sale.

The city of Dallas stated that it understood the need of protecting the land in the heavily developed park desert and keeping the nearby soccer fields.

Members of the council decided to pay $13.6 million to buy the 13.5-acre property.

“The legacy property will remain intact for Adventure Landing’s family-friendly entertainment offerings. Dallas Councilmember Cara Mendelsohn stated, “The owners rejected offers from developers for millions of dollars more than the agreed purchase price from the city of Dallas because no developer would agree to carry on their mission.”

“I would like to congratulate Dallas on the thrilling purchase of the Hildebrand Soccer Fields and Adventure Landing. “This is a huge step for our city,” said Cara Mendelsohn, a council member from Dallas.
