According to a news statement from the city, the Boise Community Climate Action Committee was established with the goal of making Boise cleaner and healthier.
The committee will be instrumental in creating Boise’s Community Climate Action Guide, a tool for identifying community climate goals.
Committee members will work together with community members and city employees to exchange ideas and offer input. According to the press release, this is a community-driven initiative to address the effects of climate change and provide locals with knowledge, tools, and opportunities to get involved.
According to Mayor Lauren McLean, Boise is at its finest when we work together to develop a common future vision. In order to make Boise ready and resilient to the effects of climate change, this committee will work to make sure that the city’s climate initiatives represent the opinions and concerns of its citizens.
Who ought to submit an application?
The city of Boise is looking for committee members from a variety of businesses, occupations, and backgrounds. The group will receive input from all of Boise’s neighborhoods because it will be geographically representative of the city.
The committee will meet once a month for one and a half hours for a duration of one year. Throughout the process, committee members will also be urged to take part in community engagement activities.
The deadline for applications is December 20. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, and in late January, the final 20-member committee will be revealed.
