DALLAS—After 40 years of operation, a Christian radio station in North Texas is closing.

KLTY Goodbye

We know:

K-Love recently purchased 94.9 KLTY from the corporation that owned it.

“Yes, some of your KLTY family is going to say, See you later.” “The good news is that we will continue to play Christian music from K-Love on 94.9,” Bonnie Curry, co-host of the morning show, stated.

On January 31, KLTY will go off the air.

What they’re saying:

Curry has spent 30 of KLTY’s 40 years there.

“Over those years, a lot of things have transpired. I’ve listened to this radio station as my daughters have grown up. They are just as much a part of this as everyone else. We have been a part of families’ lives and have seen them grow up. Therefore, we would want to express our gratitude for each and every time we have spent with each and every individual. It has been a pleasure to share our lives with you. It’s an honor,” she remarked.

However, she is sure that the new format will be appreciated by fans.

“They are already trusted by many Americans. They are aware that they will encourage and uplift them. Therefore, even though we are disappointed by this transition, we are confident that Dallas-Fort Worth will continue to enjoy the amazing Christian music we have provided for so many years. That has a great deal of heart. That’s very peaceful,” Curry remarked.

Next steps:

Before they depart, KLTY listeners can bid farewell to their favorite radio hosts.

Jeremiah Richardson, co-host of KLTY’s morning show, stated, “We couldn’t say goodbye without literally saying goodbye in person.”

The gathering will take place at Compass Church, which is situated at 2600 Hall-Johnson Road in Colleyville, on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

There will be giveaways of radio station memorabilia, such as gold albums and even a signed guitar.

“So, show up in person and see if you can grab a signed guitar from Christian artists you love,” Richardson stated.

Additionally, a limited-edition t-shirt will be given to the first 1,000 customers.

On KLTY’s last day, fans may also anticipate a celebration and unique surprises.
