CELINA, TexasOn Friday night, Celina won the Texas 4A Division I state title by dominating Kilgore.
The Bobcats’ unbeaten season was finished off by the 55-21 victory.
Bowe Bentley, a junior quarterback for Celina, went 9–14 via the air for 265 yards and passed for five touchdowns. Additionally, Bentley gained 68 yards on the ground.
Bentley won the offensive MVP award for the match.
Colton Rodriguez, a wide receiver, caught five passes for 147 yards and two scores.
To aid in the cause, the Bobcats defense intercepted two passes.
In addition to having a team-high nine tackles and half a sack, Luke Biagini brought in one of those interceptions.
The defensive MVP award for the game went to Biagini.
It is Celina’s first state title since 2007 and their eighth overall.
